No, Japan is a right hand drive country so pretty much all Japanese imports are right hand drive. All the Volvo models we import are right hand drive, identical to their UK cousins.
Japan is a temperate country. They don't use road salts on the roads like we do in the UK and therefore underside corrosion is often none to minimal.
The Japanese also tend to use public transport much more than us in the UK as it is much more reliable. This means most cars in Japan have a much lower mileage for the year than UK cars. Many of the 2013/14 cars we import have sub 50k miles on the clock. This means much less wear and tear on all components.
They also tend to be far more obedient and thorough than us in the UK and for that reason Japanese cars tend to be serviced at all the correct intervals and maintenance standards kept high.
Many of the cars we import have a history in Japan, either with Volvo Japan themselves, or independent garages. Where possible we endeavour to get the service documents with the car, however this is not always possible. However you can rest assured that we will thoroughly inspect the car mechanically and that it will be serviced by us, with a new service book if it is missing.
Yes, Japanese Volvos are identical to UK cars in terms of safety features and crash ratings. The Japanese MOT (Shaken) is far far stricter than a UK MOT, however we will have MOT’d your car on arrival in the UK on top of this. Newer cars will also go through an IVA test to ensure they meet UK standards, including the addition of factory fog lights etc which are often not a requirement in Japan.
As there are no official emission certificates on imports (even with an IVA test) it is done solely on the month and year of the vehicle.

No, with many companies now specialising in imported cars, it’s a competitive market – Nowadays, many main stream insurers will quote very competitively for ‘grey imports’ such as the Alphard or Elgrand MPVs (meaning cars never sold in the UK market). As for our European cars such as Volvo, VW, Audi and BMW – they are classified as ‘Parallel Imports’ which are identical to their UK counterparts and thus can be insured the same way a UK equivalent model can, without prejudice.
Parallel imports made in Europe and shipped to Japan are the same exact specification as UK cars so obtaining parts and independent and main dealer servicing is straightforward.
Yes, we have a 5 star customer satisfaction rating for a reason! All of our cars come with 3 months (or 3000 miles which ever is soonest) comprehensive warranty. We also offer 12 month and 24 month extensions.
The deposit amounts vary depending on vehicle. Deposits start from just £250 inc VAT. This deposit is 100% refundable if you change your mind. Once your deposit is received our agent in Japan will inspect the car on your behalf, taking detailed photos and noting anything of concern. If you are happy to proceed they will then secure the car for you and have it shipped to our secure facility in Osaka where it will be deregistered and shipped to the UK on the next available vessel.
Yes, we pride ourselves on our no compromise, detailed servicing which typically includes engine oil and filter, cabin filter and air filter We would also re-gas air conditioning, replace any wear and tear parts such as braking system components, suspension components and may others parts if required before the car leaves us.
We also are mindful of the replacement of timing belts in line with manufacturer service requirements, so you can rest easy and enjoy your new car for a decade to come.
Yes, are an experienced garage, carrying out advanced service requirements on a regular basis. Our mechanic Mark has even developed some of his own tooling to make certain tasks easier and quicker. We love adding customer requests for modifications from window tinting (or removal) to alloy wheel refurbishment/customisation, power upgrades and stage 1 engine or breathing upgrades. We also can undertake paintwork, dent removal and audio visual upgrades on your request but many of these features are already planned in to our on the road costings.
The navigation systems used in the Japanese models differ from the UK supplied and as such swapping them out for a UK model and recoding them to the car is a painfully slow process and even with the latest maps supplied by Volvo the systems are no match for the latest technology found on our phones.
JPN Euro offer an upgrade to the Volvo navigation that allows seemless integration with Apple Car Play and Android Auto and also allows connectivity with other apps such as Spotify and Youtube music.
The units are supplied by Integrated Automotive. The kit gives an "OEM" feel and appearance as it retains the existing Volvo display screen mounted on your dash and connects to the rear of the original head unit, this kit enables you to control CarPlay/Android Auto with the existing rotary controller and steering wheel controls!
This is a huge upgrade to any Volvo model and can be purchased for £650 inc VAT fitted and ready to go.
Yes, we reprogram all our Volvos to read as if they were UK cars from new. This means it will show its mileage history in miles, and the speedo will be calibrated to be accurate to DVSA and DVLA standards.
